Consistently praised

  • It works both as a clean four-band parametric EQ and as a dynamic processor, letting each band's gain track the level of the incoming signal.
  • Because the signal is only split into bands within the side-chain, it avoids the phase smearing that typical multiband compressors introduce.
  • Bandwidths can be set extremely narrow, making it good for surgical, moment-specific fixes like ringing, rogue resonances and de-essing.
  • It solves problems that a conventional multiband processor can't, such as evening out a spectrally inconsistent source only when needed.
